This painting follows another painting from last years “Oregon Coast“. As my wife and I traveled the coast of Oregon, we captured many vista images that were inspiring. This one came from seeing a small sign on the side of the road for a platform overlook, I can’t remember specifically what it said but it was intriguing enough for a side trip. After driving a short way, there was a parking lot and a paved walkway that worked it’s way through the fields of golden wheat (sounds good but I have no clue what it actually was). It had partially been cut and the further uphill we walked the more interesting it got. At the top of the hill, was a wooden overlook platform. Someone went to a lot of trouble to build this area and it was well worth the short walk to get to the top. There were no other people around and I think this is a much overlooked overlook! 😀
It was a misty day and started raining, so my wife walked back on the path back to the car. As she walked, she studied the images on her camera. That’s what she is doing in the painting.
